Founder, Manager, Owner and Lead Coach

Tom Austin

Coach Tom’s Story:

“Sport has always been a passion of mine from a young age and from Secondary School onwards I knew that this was the industry I would like to be involved in. Studying at Oxford Brookes College undertaking a Football Academy course, Southampton Solent University to study in Football/Sport, Co-owner of Serious4Sport for 10 years and now taking the leap of faith by setting up TA Sport Stars.”

“I have always believed sport is one of the most important things for children to take part in. Building a positive self-esteem, physical and mental well-being and learning to work with others are just some of the reasons why I started delivering sport for children. This being said I really hope parents/guardians will support this local coaching business in order to keep providing fun activities for children from now until the future.”

Thomas Jeffreys

Coach TJ’s story:

“My name is Tom Jeffreys, I have always had passion for participating in sport as well as coaching sport. I have coached multi-sports specialising in football since 2016 at local primary schools and youth football clubs. This interest in coaching sport led me to completing my 1st4sport Level 1 and 1st4sport Level 2 (Block 1, 2. 3) in football coaching as I wanted to better my ability as a coach. In addition to coaching I have had experience of working within a local secondary school’s SEN (Special Educational Needs) department which I believe has strongly improved my ability working with children of all needs, levels and backgrounds.”

“I have coached under the guidance of Tom Austin since Christmas 2018, leading after school clubs and assisting on multiple camps. Working under Tom has helped me grow not just as a coach but as person. My leadership, confidence and coaching skills have grown massively along with my ability to take on new responsibilities within a coaching session/class.”

“My favourite part about coaching on holiday camps is seeing a child learn and master a technique, skill or sport they had never played before all whilst having fun and enjoying themselves!”

I started working for Tom when I was 14 when I became a coaching Volunteer and helped out around camp, I’ve enjoyed it ever since and it’s made me enjoy sports a lot more. A fun fact about me is that I have Matt Richies boots when Swindon lost on penalties against Brentford in 2013, He came and gave me his boots and I still have them to this day.”

I have worked at Fitzwaryn, a special educational needs school, for 3 years as a TA (now currently working two days a week) where I have lead PE sessions which has given me great experience coaching a wide range of children. I’m currently studying Sports Coaching and Performance at the University of Winchester. I also coach Wantage Town boys U9s which is great fun and seeing the boys progress is fantastic.“
